James Sulkowski

Bringing both philosophic and scientific sensibilities to his art, Sulkowski strives to capture the essence of his subjects, often natural ones. He’s one of the few artists who continue to grind their own paints from powered pigments and oils to maintain total control over the consistency and vitality of the materials. Also a sculptor, he uses the ancient lost wax technique for his cast bronze pieces, which include a number of busts of luminaries from the world of opera. This award-winning artist and internationally recognized muralist also teaches, to nurture artists of the future.
